(More customer reviews)I got the Heat Surge today. I like the fact that this heater has a vent that blows out hot air rather than one that radiates it. The vent blows similar to the amount that a heating register would in your wall. You will not feel it if you aren't close to the unit. However, If you are standing in front of the unit it is very hot. The vent that the heat comes out of gets very hot to the touch. If a child were to walk up and touch it they could be burned. Much like any space heater make sure children and pets are watched around it. Another thing I found was that the unit is very front heavy. If it is sitting on a medium shag carpet it could tip over very easily. It is stated in the manual that if the unit tips over it will shut off automatically. A small child or pet could easily knock it over though.
I did find that over the hours I ran it, the temperature of the room was nice. It is also very quiet. I would say for the money you really are paying for a nicer look than a typical space heater and will probably work just as good. I also like that it has a remote control and it can be easily moved from room to room.
UPDATE: This winter my furnace's blower motor went bad. I was without heat for 4 days. I am so happy I had the Heat Surge. I don't know what I would have done in the dead of winter without it.

Until now I'd never found an electric wok that could generate enough heat to sear in the flavors of meats and vegetables. Not only does the Breville Electric Wok deliver as much heat as a top of the range stove top wok, its surface is non-stick so I can use less oil for healthier results. Every thing about the wok is clever, from the detachable base, to the dishwasher safe parts, to the cook and look glass lid. Whoever designed this is in to wok cooking in a big way. Very clever, very stylish, very hot.

I actually bought this for the little snuff box, (who's gonna pay $4 for wood shavings?), turns out it holds only 1 oz. and it's PLASTIC! Under GOOD conditions that amount might start 2-3 fires. Had it been metal, adding an O-ring would keep it's contents dry. I could've got the sticks & made much more for same price!

(More customer reviews)Got mine yesterday, used it for every meal except breakfast since. Marinate some meat, coat some veggies with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, throw it on the skewers when you're ready, and 20 minutes later you're eating! I was skeptical about feeding eight people, but if you use all the pieces it comes with, you really can cook about 4 lbs of meat, (well spaced cubes of chicken and beef) within the stated times.
I was also afraid to crank my gas all the way up to the "medium" specified as my burner generally runs hot enough to smoke up the house at that level, but if you follow the instructions (water in base), you won't have any problems. I've even gotten brave and cranked it to high a few times (I love that char-grill flavor) and still no smoke, but I've been pretty vigilant about the water, refilling every hour or so at least.
Make sure to use the toothpicks included for veggies so they don't slide off the ends, so far I haven't really had a problem with meat slipping, but you never know, so throw 'em on just in case. I break mine in half and sometimes they burn a bit, but still no smoke alarms yet. I thought it was kind of gimmicky when I first saw it, but I can see it becoming a standby for lower fat and still tasty cooking.

(More customer reviews)The initial set of tools delivered had the top of the tool stand broken (where the tools hang) off the upright. Contacted the seller and had a new set delivered with all pieces undamaged. The tools themselves are very solid and functional although they may be a tad large for most wood stoves . . . perhaps more of a true fireplace tool.
The only thing I wasn't very happy with was the quality of the welds holding the stand together. As I said, the first one had a broken top due to poor welds and the second, although not broken, could certainly have been welded better. For the price, I would have thought there would have been a little better quality control.
Aidens Hearth was great about getting the replacement tool set. I would definitely recommend the seller.

3M 2113NA High Temperature Flue Tape, 15-Foot Roll Review

I'm not about to catch the bird flu or gecko flu or albino chinchilla flu -- or whatever we're supposed to panic about next -- but finding the right protection is a challenge. Everyone knows flu shots are only for old people and pig smoochers; I needed some practical way to protect my good health.
My dilemma has always been what to do about people who clearly already have the flu, but won't voluntarily choose to be fevered and miserable in the privacy of their own homes. If they show up at my office or food court, I can't just lock them in a closet or stash them in my trunk until they're no longer a danger. What's a law-abiding flu-ophobe to do?
Thank goodness I stumbled onto this product. It's clearly marked as 'flu tape' to be used on people with high temperatures. I carry a roll everywhere I go now, and if I run into someone with the sniffles or a bad cough -- even a mild sore throat -- I immediately sit them down and wrap them head-to-toe in this wonderful therapeutic gauze.
Naturally I start with the mouth -- to protect myself from airborne contamination -- so they don't have the chance to thank me. But even the first application seems to breathe new energy into them. Right away, they go from congested and foggy to wide-eyed and energetic, as they hop around in their chairs and bellow for joy. I don't know what kind of medicine this stuff is coated with, but it sure works wonders.
As an aside, it seems like this tape might work pretty well on sealing fireplace joints and stovepipes, too. But who'd want to waste such a miracle product on something like that?

(More customer reviews)This is the second Trim Kit I have purchased. (Left the first one in previous house). The instructions for assembly are bad and difficult to follow. Just pictures with no written instructions. Worst part is the poor quality of screws for assembly. They are cheaply made and threads easily stripped during installation. It was, again, as with the first kit I purchased, a very frustrating experience to assemble.
Dealing with Amazon, through whom I made the purchase, was a good experience.
