(More customer reviews)This is the 3rd winter I have had this stove, and my wife and I are very impressed as to how it has performed. Our family room is in the rear of our house (added on), and it has always been difficult to maintain a comfortable temperature. Since I didn't have either natural gas or propane at my house, I researched everything carefully before my purchase. I ended up having my local propane company provide a 100 gallon tank (it usually lasts at least a full year), and I installed a flexible gas line to the new location. It was actually pretty simple for anyone who is handy with tools.
Since the installation, we have found we can decrease the thermostat setting for our house furnace a full 5 degrees and be perfectly comfortable in the family room. There was a noticeable drop in our overall heating costs the past 3 years. When you add that to the ambiance of having a fireplace, and the fact that there is no mess involved, this is one of my best purchases.
